OpenOffice vs Microsoft Office

The entire suite of Microsoft Office, are some of the most popular programs, the programs for word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database. Each has its own functions and certain file types and functions to deal with. OpenOffice is exactly the same as the Writer, Calc, Impress and Base programs.

Although the programs are similar, the two suites operate differently in both features and supported file types, which can lead to problems.

Say you are with a VOR OpenOffice Impress file, when creating a presentation file. If you work in the day to day of the project, will be a shame to share with someone who is used with MS PowerPoint, and files that are not supported BEFORE. Likewise, the same can be said for a guy like PPTX, OpenOffice can open but not recording again.

This is the kind of thing that should be considered when Microsoft Office and Open Office are compared, since these two suites are alike and different in many ways.

My thoughts on Open Office

This is what I see when I click on Open Office: This is a complete office suite with tons of features that can be used on a portable player, with programs like Desktop is compatible, it is also easier than any other Office suite to use (MS Office), and absolutely free - not much more you can ask.

It is great to be able to provide a full Office suite you do with you on the road, the portable version of 450 MB is to take. Note that this does not require a lot of space compared to the normal version, which uses about 320 MB of disk space.

Similar to Libre Office, Office Office when the main window opens, you can use the File menu, without first start specific desktop to open any supported file format the program. This can be muddy and confusing if you are not sure what to use part of OpenOffice for a specific file type.
